At Meraki Chalet, our goal is to provide you with an unforgettable retreat that blends comfort, connection, and natural beauty. To ensure that your experience meets your expectations, we want to be upfront about our policies and what you can expect during your stay.
The "Things to Know" section provides an overview of our rental agreement and key policies so there are no surprises. We kindly ask that you read this information carefully to ensure our chalet is the right choice for your getaway.
Rental Agreement
We do require a signed rental agreement for the security of our chalet and to ensure our guests have a clear understanding of our policies. This agreement is based on the standard short-term rental agreement provided by CITQ (Corporation de l'industrie touristique du Québec), with modifications tailored to the unique features of Meraki Chalet, such as neighborhood rules and property amenities.
If you book directly through our website, you’ll agree to the "Rental Conditions" at the time of booking, and no further action will be required.

Living Close to Nature
Meraki Chalet is located in the heart of Val-Morin, surrounded by forest, river, and wildlife. With such a unique location, occasional encounters with nature are part of the experience—but we also want to be proactive about helping you navigate this aspect of your stay.
Here are a few tips to keep your stay comfortable:
- Keep exterior doors closed as much as possible to prevent small animals, rodents or insects from getting too curious.
- Store food securely, preferably in the refrigerator, and avoid leaving food outside or uncovered.
- Use the designated garbage and recycling bins with securely closed lids to deter wildlife.
Our chalet is regularly treated by a professional pest management service using safe, non-toxic methods to prevent unwanted visitors. You may notice discreet traps or treatment boxes in cabinets or storage areas as part of these preventative measures.
While we take every precaution to minimize contact with wildlife, it’s important to remember that we’re in their natural habitat, and occasional encounters are part of staying in such a beautiful location. For this reason, refunds cannot be provided for the typical behavior of wildlife.
If you have significant concerns about interacting with wildlife, we kindly suggest considering other accommodations better suited to your comfort.
